OUTREACH!!! (and Nahum, Habs, Zephy, Jerry, & Eazy E)

Last few weeks since writing we have studied the books of Nahum, Habakkuk, Zephaniah, Jeremiah, and this week Ezekiel. Its been good. And so much that I can't think of what to write about, so I'm going to talk about OUTREACH!

Our school finishes in June and then there is an option to go on outreach for 6 weeks. Its a bit different than a DTS outreach, the focus is doing a lot more preaching and teaching. We are sending teams to Dalian, China and Chiang Rai, Thailand. And after praying about it, I feel I am supposed to go on outreach to be better equipped in teaching the word, and so I am going to...

CHIANG RAI, THAILAND! Whee! The teams are still being finalized, but from the sounds of it, our Thailand team will be much smaller, and I'm excited about it. The leaders are Dave and Bridgette, an awesome married couple with a baby girl named Emily. From what Dave and Bri have said, we already have a large number of pastors in the area we will be visiting that are eager to learn how to study the word and teach it to their congregations. (Wow... such a reminder of how RICH we are in this nation... we have God's Word so accessible!)

Praise God he has been providing for my needs for the School of Biblical Studies, and through the generosity of others, I have over half of the amount needed for the outreach (which is from late June-August.) The total is approximately $2000 including airfare, ground costs and travel insurance. I am excited to see what the Lord has in store for me in the next few months as I finish this course and head out on outreach!!!

Please keep me in your prayers. I don't know if you guessed by my last entry, but this course is NOT easy. It is amazing and God is using it mightily in my life, but it is a challenge. Some days I am tempted to give up and just turn in half-hearted attempts at my homework, but I know God has me here for more than that and I don't want to miss out on what HE wants to teach me through his Word. And please, if you have any need for prayer, don't hesitate to let me know. I may be busy, but not THAT busy! Its super important, you know!
